Sunny Isles – Florida’s Best Kept Secret

July 6, 2017

Sunny Isles Beach is one of Florida’s best kept secrets. The small city; just north of Miami Beach, is ideally located on a barrier island nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intercoastal Waterway.

Sunny Isles boasts two miles of white sandy beaches that are within easy walking distances of condominiums – such as 700 Winston Towers. That means you can be at the beach just after walking out the front door.

If you like to fish; the Newport Fishing Pier located at Sunny Isles Boulevard and Collins, is just a short walk from 700 Winston Towers. Newport is only the only public fishing pier in Miami-Dade County and the only place you can fish from land in Sunny Isles Beach.

Those who want variety in fishing can always rent a boat or charter a fishing boat. If you have your own boat the Sunny Isles Marina at 400 Sunny Isles Boulevard offers wet and dry slips, a full mechanic department, a bait shop and a tiki bar. There are several other marinas in the area so you should have no problem finding a dock for your boat.

Best of all Sunny Isles Beach is a short drive from Downtown Miami, Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Miami International Airport, Palm Beach and Fort-Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport. That makes condo rental in Sunny Isles Beach – the perfect place to stay in South Florida.

Living in Sunny Isles Beach

Sunny Isles Beach is also a great place for families and young professionals to live. There’s even a kindergarten through eighth grade school; Norman S. Edlecup/Sunny Isles Beach K-8, right in the city. The classrooms feature state of the art technology and views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Intercoastal Waterway.

Older kids can attend classes at the Miami Dade County Public Schools’ Highland Oaks Middle School, and the Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Senior High Biscayne Campus. There are also a variety of private and religious schools in the area.

You don’t even need a car to enjoy Sunny Isles Beach; the city operates a free shuttle service the SIBSHUTTLE that provides regular trips to the Surfside Publix supermarket, Mount Sinai Medical Center and shopping destinations such as the Aventura Mall. There’s even an app to make it easy to catch the shuttle. For a more convenient alternative; there are plenty of Uber and Lyft drivers serving the area.

There are numerous beach access points in Sunny Isles many of them with easy walking distance of our apartment rental. Lifeguards are on duty everyday between 9 or 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 or 6:30 PM for your family’s safety, so you can enjoy the water. Florida’s Riviera

Sunny Isles Beach is known as Florida’s Riviera because of the miles of white sand beaches and condominium resorts. The beaches are among the most uncrowded in Florida.

Even though the beaches are uncrowded, they’re right in the middle of the city with such amenities as Walgreens, and a public library within easy walking distance. That makes Sunny Isles Beach the perfect place to enjoy the beach lifestyle in Florida.

There is a lot to do on the sand, including free sunrise yoga on the beach almost every morning. If you get bored laying on the sand check out Oleta River State Park, Florida’s largest urban park. Oleta is the perfect place for kayaking, hiking and biking.

Sunny Isles boasts a colorful history; long before the big resorts were built, it was known as Motel Row back in the 1950s because of all the tourist courts there. Today it’s called “the city of sun and sea” for good reason.
